79 450sl OEM exhaust from X to muffler

Does anybody has an OEM pict of what the exhaust of a 79 450sl is supposed to be. Ours sound like a semi, almost a wanabee muscle car with a lot of rattle... too loud when topless. The cat seems smaller than what is listed and the replaced bosal muffler is too loud.... no leaks... This is not a calif. model...

I suggest you get an EPC subscription or go by a local dealer for a print out . Most will do it for you. There are a blue million configurations depending on VIN.
I suspect yours has/had headers going with a crossover pipe to smallish cat one or two pipes to resonator ( perhaps, mid stream position) and then into muffler

Thanks, some indie mentioned the resonator and a cat? this is why I was asking about more infos. The cat is indeed really small.
