I also need a new Eccentric bolt for the camber adjustment with the large threaded sleeve which goes into the top of the kingpin assembly if anyone has one handy.

I've Managed to dismantle the kingpins o.k but the brass sleeves in which the kingpins slot into I'm not sure of how to remove and replace these. I didn't think it was possible or needed, but the repair kit i have comes with replacements.
Im guessing they are either pressed in or will unscrew somehow.
Any body familiar with this task?

Also im still looking at replacing the square Diff rubber/steel mount which sits in the boot/trunk. Any suggestions on where to get one?

I have some updated photos to come of the resto but not much welding progress at this stage. Hopefully get stuck into it this month.
you have to get a hack saw and carefully cut the bushes along their length. I cut one side of a bush, then do the opposite side. You then have to punch out the remains . They are pressed into place. Once the new ones in you will have to ream them to size with around 0.3 mm clearance

Hey Ron, is this something you'd be doing at this stage yourself if you were me or would you look at trying to leave the existing ones?
They LOOK sweet, if they are still within the .3mm tolerance against the new kingpins is there any need to change these out?
Im happy to change them if you reckon its worth it.

I always change them, they are good for 40 years plus ,if kept greased. Give them a good wash and get all dirt and grease off them. try the pins in the knuckles to see how much movement you have. Any movement will cause shimmying and WOF failure Good pins have zero perceptible movement.
Cheers!

What would you use to ream the new bushings? .3mm seems like it would be hard to measure given these pieces.

Best Regards,

David

axle and wishbones have gone for sandblasting this weekend and the knuckles have gone to the local engineers for new bushings and honing out.
Im a bit hesitant to follow the Por 15 instructions and prep the freshly sandblasted metal with their metal ready followed by rinsing with water.. this just doesnt seem right with bare metal. I was originally thinking of coating the freshly sandblasted/keyed metal with por15 as quick as possible, then another coat of por 15 followed by a top coat of a different colour paint for uv protection...

I use Duplicoror Truck Bedliner. Great stuff.

BTW, the kingpin bushings need to be reamed not honed.

Note how handy an upside down wheel arch is for storing tools. The rotisserie was definitely worth making
