170d

Hi, Im very new here. Among others I have a 1950 170d (I think w136) 4 door sedan. Among other things, it needs motor mounts! It has a hyd cylinder pedal which lubes the front suspension links which had/has gear oil in it which has leaked down on the brakes and saturated the brake shoes. I can get them relined locally, no prob there. It has been parked for a dozen years and smells AWFULLY of rat/mouse piss, that is the worst issue with it!

It ran good, 12 years ago, with a slight fuel line leak at one nozzle, (not the return lines).

Got about 50 mpg and went an honest 55 mph with a good tailwind.

There used to be a local place with parts for most mb's ever built, but he's retired(?). I havent found links here for this one, yet. I'm still looking. Any body out here able to help?? -cornemuse-

Do you have a 170Da, a 170DS or a 170SD?

Parts are often similar but not shared 100%.

Interesting that your nickname is the French translation for "bagpipes"

There's a 170-220 group online...

170220 FORUM - Index or 170220 FORUM - Index

And did you see the 170 pick up on BaT recently?

From the comments:

"Anyone wanting links to MB 170 or 220 parts can contact me.
fieldlogistics@yahoo.com Pete"

I'm helping out a friend here with his '53 170SV, motivating him to get it driving... Almost there. It is mobile, and has brakes.

I think I have a box full of NOS brake shoes for one of these things. They are quite narrow and don't seem to fit anything else so it has to be for something old.

And how would you do that? It's a lot of work on a 190SL and that car is worth something.

Here's a gas version for sale (coincidentally the same place I bought my coupe). It's pricey but I've seen this car in person at my mechanics shop, she's a stunner.
