Hi. Enjoying the weather? I don't have a mechanic, yet. This is my first MB and I've had my 230SL for about a year and a half. It has not needed any major work, yet. I do the regular stuff myself, recently completely rebuilding the front brakes. I get a lot of help from my Yahoo! Group friends. I am in the MBCA and those owners vary on opinions regarding which local dealer is better. It goes back and forth. Regarding independants, I have tried Blagoi's, but I don't think they're familiar with my old 1966 as they could be. They might be really good on your '88 300SEL. Very friendly guys.
My other car is a Dodge and when it comes time to replace it in a year or so, I was considering a 124 chassis E420 or a 126 chassis 560SEL or 560SEC. I would love to talk to you about your car. We don't need to do that on the list, so write me off-list or use the Private Message function on this site.
