One dim low beam, goes off when brights come on

So I just had some work done to the lights so this is a new scenario as they worked fine before. Now, when I turn on the headlights, the passenger side low beam (top bulb in my stacked headlamps) is dim compared to the other side. When I touch it or move it in any way it turns bright again. If I put the brights on the low beam goes off altogether, but it's supposed to stay on like it does on the driver's side.

This sounds like a ground issue to me isolated to that unit, do you agree?
Why would the low beam cut off totally when I engage the high beams, or does this indicate another problem?

This usually indicates dirty contacts and/or fuses. Check fuses by taking them out. Clean the contacts of all the lights. Check ground to the battery.

It happened to me once too, when I put high beam on, the low beam went off. It was solved by cleaning the contacts.

I'd say the problem is likely a bad ground. Check them first.

I checked grounds at the lights and all seemed good, then checked fuses, they were good too, even removed and cleaned. Still had the same problem. Took the headlight out again for a second, more thorough, check and found the ground wire disconnected within the connector itself which was invisible until I took the connector apart. Everything works great now!

Glad you found the cause. I was going to say this happened when my ground came off inside the plug itself!
