Do i have bragging rights ? Die Cast Models. My personal Bday gift

I'm sharing this awesome gift i gave myself for my bday with my co workers. But they are geeks and don't really get it
So to all the forum members inlove with the s class cars - isn't this the best bday gift ?

A collection of mercedes s class cars 1951-1998. Made by wiking for Daimler Benz AG and presented at the opening of a mercedes dealership.
6 mercedes scale models. All in a nice Made in Stuttgart box with mercedes logos.

And it won't be a nice thread without pictures.

The poor focus hides the beautiful Mercedes 500SEL logo

Way cool!

I've been into model cars since I was a kid.

When I was young, it was cars I'd like to own, later it was became a quest to find a model of each of the cars I've owned.

One of my coolest finds was a metal Schuco model of the W114 250 coupe.

Yeah, die cast models are getting more and more expensive. They do get better too though.
I was born in soviet union and my die cast models looked like ****. And you couldn't just go and pick whatever you liked. It had to be whatever your uncle could find. But good memories. Wish i kept the few models i had. They would cost lots of money now. Vintage. Made in USSR

I was into trucks for some reasons. And soviet cars of course. We have never seen or heard of anything other than what was made in the USSR
Good times

I have a mate who has three Tatra ,a 603 and two Tatraplans and i know he would kill to own a a communist era model of them.

I've had some railroad scale Wiking models and they are very detailed. I wish they would have silvered the back of the headlights because they look fairly dark in these models but that's a minor gripe.
Speaking of USSR models, I had an incredibly heavy black ZIL government limousine model when I was growing up, thick diecast from the USSR, traded it off years ago but wish I kept it, a very cool piece.

The only real difference between Soviet cars and trucks being: cars=4wheels, trucks=6 to 12+ wheels?

Add wings to the vehicle and you have a MiG...add rotor to the vehicle and one gets a Mil-24

Good times!
