Ranz Motorsports 2JZ swapped W114 at SEMA

RANZ MOTORSPORTS x HH MERCEDES BENZ. « BCND

I'm interested in the 2JZ swap, but the IS interior would be a downgrade to me. Hoping some build details get released.

SEMA, where all good taste in car customizing goes to die.

For every 20 disgusting cars, there is 1 amazing build. Went in 2010 and it was a fun experience. I'll leave this in the crap category though. Mechatronik has their 5.5 AMG swapped W108 there as well.

Makes you wonder what they started with - I'd ONLY understand the downgraded interior if the original was totally junk.

I agree that SEMA has a lot of crappy cars but they do have some really nice ones, especially by manufacturers. The Charger with the Viper V10 makes me drool every time.

I think they did a great job in bringing a car back to life. Is it still a Mercedes Benz? Well... at least not the motor and interior. But, yes it still is...sorta?

But what this build shows is the builders capability to do something radical and do it well. Without a doubt, it isn't going to fancy most tastes. (for me the large wheels and ride height don't work for me) But I like it because of what they are able to do. That is what SEMA is about. Its the Speciality Equipment Market. And don't forget AAPEX!

I am thinking of a motor swap too. Not a Toyota but an AMG. A V6 C32 would be nice!

Some more pics.

Also I realized they shaved the roof rails. If I wasn't hunting an original roof basket I'd probably do the same.
