Exclamation Mercedes W108 Sunroof

Hello All, I an restoring my 1972 280Se 4.5. I just finished installing new front and rear sunroof seals as well as the felt strips along the sides. I cleaned the rails and lubricated them. I reinstalled the sunroof panel in the same manner as the removal, no parts lost.

My problem now is that when the sunroof is all the ay the front of the roof opening, the rear of the sunroof panel does not raise to meet the rear of the roof opening.

What am I missing, or doing wrong. Any help or suggestions would be extremely helpful.

it might be sticking at the point where it reaches the front and not sliding up the ramp. disconnect the cable and see if it slides easily as far forward as possible.

Seems like the cable has some slack in it. How much play in the cable should there be at the front most bracket/attachment to the sunroof panel?

Thanks

Where the side guide rails (for the rear edge of the lid) curve up, to "lift" the back of the sunroof up as it closes.

The angle of the rails that locate the front edge is much more gradual and even, but the rails that locate the rear edge have a more abrupt ramp/angle to lift/lower the rear edge...
