67' 250se fi info...

i have a 67' 250se euro fi 4spd on the tree. I have a few questions if someone can let me know if Im on the right track. cold start is 1100-1150rpms takes about 7-10mins to warm then steady 750rpm. dwell at 38degs. timing at 750rpms w/o vacuum 8degs btdc distributor is bosch last 2 digits 51 think its the retarded one not sure thoe. bad part car runs really rich, plugs are carbon fouled, don't know how to adjust fuel, i read of the full range screw but not sure were it is. I found the 10mm bolt cap on front of fi pump but it's just a little bore hole inside. So any knowledge would be grateful. thankyou....

This post from mercmad6.3 should be stickied for MFI owners' reference, imho. It has good back-to-basics info so you aren't adjusting to cover up something that's not right, whether mixture or linkage, or timing:

Car wants to stall at idle, more details included

Better to check the technical section of Welcome - Mercedes Benz 230SL, 250SL, 280SL Pagoda Group.

It's the same MFI for 230/250/280SL, 220SEb, 250SE, 280SE/SEL, 300SE/SEL.
