Car: 1959 Mercedes-Benz 220 SE Cabriolet
Owner: Walteraud Legatt
From: Barrington, IL

The Mercedes-Benz 220 SE two-door convertible was first introduced in September of 1958. The Limited production model was equipped with a six-cylinder overhead camshaft fitted with a Bosch two-plunger injection pump that resulted in 134 hp and 152 lb. Ft. of torque. The manifold injection system resulted in 18 percent more power, 5 percent greater torque and reduced fuel consumption by 8 percent over the regular carburetor engine. Top speed was 100 mph.
Only 1,942 of the 220SE convertible and coupe models were manufactured from July of 1958 until November of 1960, making this vehicle a much sought after classic.
From the estate of John Legat.
