W111 Instrument cluster light bulbs

Getting into the details of my rally car build. The brake warning and charging light work but the rest of the cluster is out to lunch. If I am going to take the cluster out, I'll want to put fresh LEDs in all the sockets. I can't seem to find out how many bulbs are in there and what size are they. Can someone weigh-in for me?

i just did full conversion to leds on a w114

5 lights for the nigh light and 6 for the rest i didn't change the last 6 because it makes no difference to the look.

here is a picture.
these are just plug and play, i went white.

Thanks for the photo of the lit up LED bulbs. I have always found the lights on the old Mercedes too dim.

Of course, it could be the lights are find and it is my eyesight that is dimming, but either way it is nice to know brighter bulbs are out there.

I've had a host of bigger issues to remedy and now have to address these dash lights. I have hand brake light and all of the other warning lights. I just can't read speedo and trip meter.

I read the posts on PagodaSL about how to bypass the rheostat. The other day, I found said rheostat on the floor under the steering wheel. Of course it is now obvious why they don't work. So if I don't have a rheostat, anybody have an idea what the heck I should do???

Electricity isn't my strong suit but willing to try.

Just search e bay for.....194 5050 leds.

But in the pics, I find there are bright spots...the lighting is not even. Most likely due to light guides (this is the problem) are used behind the gauge to distribute the light.

Don't know how much room there are behind the dial gauge, you might need to use many single leds /or led strips to do the job properly.

111 114 different bulbs. 111 fin? I think fin cars had wires on the reostat. Wire them together and thats as bright as they get. I have parts for 111 fin 801-706-6871. Post a pic please. vroom vroom.

Since I found my rheostat on the floor of my car and I discovered the rest of it hanging from the back of the cluster, I decided on advice of a knight in shining armor to just not even bother with it. I just connected the short wires that were dangling in the back and voila...lights on.

My punch list is getting shorter by the day.

I got my LEDs from the local flea market, eBay is flooded and cheaper from china.
They are fantastic, bright crisp light every time I turn on the headlights, I will not go back
Remove the rheostat and bypass it with a wire, its expensive to replace and not needed with the LEDs

On second thought you can also use led rope. I used one for the gear selector
