Never, ever buy door rubber seals from Turkish source

FYI
I am replacing now all my door seals with Mercedes seals (front and rear).
Even if the Turkish source is cheap ...it is crap...not worth the time. In a sense it is not about money (I paid more...) but time and nerves. In the end I am replacing all rubber step by step with genius Mercedes rubber...200% better.

I did purchase mine from them.... Rear door seals are not that bad, fronts are

I wasnt expecting OE qualkity.... I mean for $140 vs what, $600 For the real MB parts?

Unfortunately I didn't knew better when I got them... As usual, I found out afterwards... Same with some URO parts I got and after reading in this forum Ill never use.

MB wants $200 for each front winglet seal

Hi Rider
yeah...Turkish rear seals suck a bit less....I didn't need to cut them off and shorten the rear ones like I had to for the front ones... but I don't understand how you can copy the original so badly. Nonetheless they don't fit!
Not worth it buying this crap.

I have changed all now or the original rubber. Yes expensive but I feel good every time I open and close the door and installation is just a piece of cake...not fooling around with cutting holes for the clips and cutting the lips.

I don't have any suggestion other than the MB classic center. E-mail Tom and ask him to quote you with the member discount.

Read W...'s post. I'm in fact in contact with Tom for the front doors seals

I used a Meyle seal on the front drivers side door on my 115, i now have to slam the door to make it shut. Maybe the seal will compress over time

Depends how long ago you did the seals, my trunk seal did this but flattened down over about 2-months.

To others questioning where to buy cheaper seals, well, you truly are better buying from MB and just factoring it into the lifespan of your car, when you consider how vital these parts are (keeping out water, sealing against air and wind noise, keeping insects out) then you will be able to more easily justify the cost. It may sound silly, but consider just buying one or two at a time, no harm in that. If an off brand costs 4x as much yet you need to replace it 8x as often or more (OEM can last decades easily with proper care) then you see my point here. Plus, you are only doing or having the job done once, saving time and install charges. It's just part of the ownership of these cars if you want to do it once and do it right.

Tom is THE MAN to talk to at Classic Center.

Thanks guys.

i also regret buying the turkish seals. unfortunately, the cost of MB W123 seals has doubled in the last four years.

I've found good seals in Germany. This forum doesn't like us to post external sources so that's all I'll say here.

twinockchef 02-24-2017 10:56 AM

I would think the only acceptiable external source would be Mercedes itself. Classic Center in Irvine, CA and any dealership are excellent sources for OEM parts.
