Mercedes Benz technical data passenger cars book

Anybody have this manual that includes the w116 chassis 450sel? I'm asking because I'm looking for the specs on the coil spring part #116 321 42 04 from the 450sel and the technical book should have those figures.

I thought I might be able to help as some of the W116 numbers are presented in the W123 manual - chapter 32-250 shows the load per unit deflection, unloaded length and wire diameter for many a spring but alas not the one you specify.

I've had a quick look for chapter 32-250 in the W116 FSM over on w116.org but it doesn't seem to exist on that version of the CD...

...ummmm - good luck.

i found this in chapter 32-250 on my german W116 CD (it' more detailed than the US version)

1163214204 (front spring):

spring travel (compression) per 1000 Nm of load: 15.7
coil diameter : 16.6
unloaded coil length : 468

i'm assuming the values are in mm (468mm is about 18 inches)

Thanks fellas!

More to ask if I may....

Looking for the optional part numbers and specs on the front and rear torsion bars (sway bars) on the w116 chassis, w115 chassis and r107 chassis.

I hope this is not asking too much. Thanks again in advanced.

Thanks Frank. Interesting, only one front bar option vs three rear bar options.
