W115 220 Solenoid Change-Over Valve 001 540 8697
I found this valve #001 540 8697 in an unopened package in my trunk when I purchased my car. Anyone have any idea what this would be for on my 1970 220/8 GAS?
My vacuum emissions stuff has been bypassed like others have done on the forum, and I wonder if it isn't a replacement solenoid for something to do with this? As is, the car runs fine, and I'm surprised it would have been purchased if not necessary for something... Panda, any thoughts?

You may be correct in that someone thought they could use it to bypass something on your car

Yeah, it certainly doesn't look like it came from a W115. Could probably still be used though, unless the electrical connection is different. Anyway... if anyone stumbles across this and needs this part, let me know.
