Different Year W108 Parts Compatibility
 

I will appreicate any help anyone can give me on the following two questions.

Anyone know if the seats seats from a 1967 W108 will fit a 1972 model.

Also, the instrument cover plate, is that the same for all W108 model years. Is there a difference between a column shift and floor shift.

The seats are different between those years but will still fit.
What is the instrument cover plate? If you mean the instrument cluster itself, the difference between column and floor is the shift position indicator within the cluster. Early cars have a different connector for the instrument cluster itself. My 1967 cluster is much more "wired" and my 1968 cluster is much more "plug in".

I meant the cluster minus the gauges and clock, just the front black plastic/glass cover. The bezel trim cover.

That would be part A 000 542 12 56 which is applicable to all W108 and W109 cars. One of the few parts that never changed... Item 273 in the picture below...
