1973 280 se upper door panel removal?

Hello I was wondering if anyone knows if the upper door panel portion(section you rest your arm on) can be removed seperately from the rest of the door panel? If so do you have to remove the complete panel or is there a way to pull up and remove the top section? Thank You.

The top is independent. And is only secured by clamps. It pops up. Be gentle and start from the front end.
