ZENITH CARB SOLENOIDS?

Hi, I'm currently replacing the Zenith carbs on my 1971 250C with Webers, using the kit from Jam Engineering.

The kit I received is for "Mercedes 6cyl 32/36 DGEV" , which includes my 1971 250C.

I'm confused about the two "Weber Model DGV/DGAV Idle Cut Off Solenoids" that came with the kit.

Initially I felt that, since my car is DGEV (per the kit name), I need not install these. It stands to reason that a "DGEV" carb doesn't need "DGV/DGAV" solenoids, yet they are included in the kit.

Furthemore, there are two somewhat similar looking electronic solenoids on the original Zeniths (see attached), that lead me to believe I should install the new solenoids.

If I am to install the new solenoids, where on the Weber carbs do they go? I see no solenoid ports on the new Webers that correspond to those on the Zeniths.

Hmmm... I was hoping those were throttle position sensors. My roommate's 1965 W111 220S has Weber carburetors installed on it, and the transmission slams hard when coming to a stop. I was told it needed to have the disconnected wires coming from the transmission hooked up to throttle position sensors so it would tell the transmission to downshift smoother.
