Any good service guides/manuals/books for a fintail?

Looking for something like a Haynes manual for my 67 Mercedes 230 W110

The best one to get is the factory service manual for the W110/W111 cars, but they are hard to find and usually $100 or more. Sometimes they come as one book, sometimes it's split up into about three binders.

I've also seen a few different books for the W110/W111 sedans, from brands similar to Haynes, so they are out there and are usually cheap ($15-$30). I see them on eBay from time to time.

The factory manual is the last word on doing it right, but even these can be hard to follow.

Mercedes at the time, in the US anyway, were normally repaired at the Dealership where the Techs were trained by MB. The factory manual in a lot of cases is mostly a guide as to how to do the repairs and leaves a lot of the finer details out.

The MB Techs always had someone else in the shop to run things by when they got stuck. I always was home in the garage trying to figure out what the manual was talking about.

But such was the state of factory manuals during the time. An old Chilton's from the era would be handy to have, as well as a manual put out by a company known as 'Glenn's'. Glenn's used a lot of material right out of the factory manuals, so they are sometimes the next best thing to the real deal.

Star Classic Service Manual--Early Model Years Volume 3 on CD is a scan of the original paper service manual and is useful, although some of the scans are less than brilliant.

STAR TekInfo

A paper Parts Catalogue came with my car and it is also a great help. One may come up on ebay from time-to-time.

Yup. It was a distribution deal.

It was kind of odd to see the two cars displayed together, but in some larger cities a Dealer would have a stand alone building for Mercedes sales.

But as I recall the service departments were always combined.
