Replacing the windows in a W114

Hello,

I have a 1973 W114 sedan that I am replacing the front and rear main windows in.

I used the follow article to remove the door panels successfully.
Tech Article -- Removing Door Panel on W115

I have then taken off the seals and slided the window on a 90 degree angle into the door. Once it's inside the door, then I have turned it 90 degrees, so it's back the right way up and tried to align it with the window tracks.
I also undid the bolts that hold the right sided window track in place.

I am now having a lot of trouble trying to align the window on the tracks.

I'm wondering has anyone else done this before and would be willing to share their wisdom.

You are also fighting a lot of other worn parts. Remember: When this was installed at the factory everything was new and it all lined up.

The best thing I have found for this is to get someone to help. When you are dealing with the weight of the window and trying to align the tracks you need at least three hands.

I also lube up the window tracks with some silicone spray so I am not dealing with the friction of the 'fuzz' in the tracks.

And block out lots of time. Sometimes I hit these things just right and sometimes it takes hours and hours of fiddling.
