300cd Door Closing

My 78 300cd driver side door will not shut. It will catch in the first position but will not catch in the second position in other words it does not shut tight. Never had any adjustments or problems and one day it shut tight and next day it did not. Do you think it is the striker plate?

It's the striker on the b pillar. I had the same issue with my 116. It's worn over the years so it needs adjustment.

Best Regards,

David

They are left/right specific.
Get one from a left rear door of a W123 sedan.
Be careful of the fasteners, they can take a lot of torque to break loose after all these years. You may also find shims behind the striker, save those.

Jim
