driving a Fintail on a family vacation
I haven't posted for a while, but I thought you guys might like to know we got our 1966 230S all restored and are on a 3500 mile family trip from Florida to Traverse City Michigan.
We are half way there and other than an alternator diode failing, we are rolling along quite well. This car is as close to a modern car as any old car I have driven. Drive safe!
We've been following the build because we embarked on one ourselves about the same time. You might have a little bit more of a head start. My wife and I hope to take a cross country trip from Connecticut to California next year in our '67 230S. So we'll be watching your journey with envy!

Cool beans. I have always wanted a fintail like that. I can remember my Dad and I checking out all the new cars when they came out (I was a Daytona resident in the 60s -they used to display all the makes at a bank on Ridgewood in September) and that was one of my favs.
Tim- can I borrow that when you get back? Looks like an adventure.
