Good day!

I am breaking this out from my wiring diagram post.

Reviewing the wiring diagram for the tachometer in a 280SE/C, the tachometer is wired to the ignition coil through something listed as "Adapter (tachometer)". I've no idea what this may be. EPC does not show a part attached to the tachometer and the few other resources I have spoken with do not know what this might be. Hopefully someone out in the forum has an idea of what this is and the function it provides so I can either find one for purchase or simply wire around it.

Also, the tachometer purchased did not come with any lamps or lamp holders. Does anyone have an idea of a part number for these?

Good day everyone.

After talking with Mercedes and the Classic Center, the adapter for the tachometer appears to be one of this pieces you just can't get.

Not all is lost. The place in Palo Alto that does speedometer and other instrument rebuilds made a work around that goes into the tach housing. The tach can then be wired to the negative terminal on the coil.
