I was able to replace my 72 280SE 4.5 radiator with a unit from a 68 250S. The brackets were different on the side but were only held on with solder, a propane torch delicately used was the trick with a smidgen of plumbing solder. The $500 asking price for the new ones were about to drive me to looking for a suitable replacement in the Asian part of the scrap yard, when I remembered a radiator I had stashed in the basement 4 years before. My wife thought I was crazy to keep it, but 4 yrs later it was a dream come true and she was a nightmare best forgotten.
Check the linkage for a bend or debris on the stuck tranny, I was able to get a camaro for cheap because a piece of gravel jammed up the shifter and the guy forced it into park, snapping the shifter cable.

Thank you for the reply I'm not sure what i'm going to do. My radiator leaks only slightly and would like to replace it, while the 68 is only $500 and I'm sure I could use other parts from it I'm running into the problem of where i'm going to keep a parts car while I remove the parts I need.I'm going to try to talk the guy selling it into letting keep it at his place until I get the part I want Off and giving him a little extra I hope this work otherwise i don't know what to do

They are interchangable.

The transmission & drive shaft are different btw.

Buy the car, carefully take it apart completely. Use it for practice. Sell everything you don't need immmediately on ebay so you don't have to store it for long and somebody else benefits from it too.
