A simple but VERY important question to my fellow builders!

First of all, Hi!

I am not from the US, I am from Bulgaria, European Union...very close to Greece on the Balkani peninsula. Anyway...I've just found out of your really nice forum here. Before couple of months I've started a reconstruction of Mercedes W108, and I have collected many of the needed parts, and still collecting. So far everything is in a good condition. Lately I have found a front windshield in a very good condition of Mercedes W115, and I want to ask you about it. Is it possible to fit a front windshield from Mercedes W115 to a Mercedes W108 without any problems??? Or it is impossible due to the fact that they are different models??? I will be very pleased if some of you answer me

Have a great day all, and many greatings from Bulgaria

I don't know, but I would think they are different. I would not buy it without a trial fit first.

Не, мисля, че двете коли са много различни и стъклото няма да се побере.

Също така, използвайте само Mercedes тюлени, членовете на форума са имали много проблеми с не-Mercedes маркови тюлени.

Поздрави от САЩ!

The W108 and W115 are very different chassis and the glass will not fit.

Have you contacted a local Mercedes Benz dealership? I was surprised at how affordable genuine glass was when I replaced the windshield on my '59. I do not know how the dealers work in Bulgaria but shipping was free to the dealership I just had to pick it up. It was under $400US. I have not priced a W108 windshield but it is probably worth a call to your local main dealer parts department if you can't turn up a used one.

The 108 and 115 are close in size when it comes to these things, but close is not good enough. It must be exact.

But I have crammed a 108 rear seat into a 115. It is tight, but it will fit.

They are not the same, it will not fit.

p.s. I studied in Sofia for four years. At that time (90s) it had the most mercedes cars per capita in the world (most of them were stolen) :-)
Cheers.
