Based on Govert's information (if it is parts 92 and 95) I say remove and replace with a suitable (metric!) sized O ring and see if that works for you.

Hi stretch & govert, well I think your right but mb York said it mite not be that they cannot say it is or not, problem I have at moment is I cannot see how it comes off so going to lower rear end of gearbox down as far as I can, gently force the black cover off and hope there is a circlip holding it in so I can remove it, just hopping nothing connected to it on the inside that will fall into the box, wish me luck never done anything to a auto box before only vacuum side of it, dave.

Well people it came out with a bit of pressure, used a bore-a-scope to see inside as I was lifting it and yes there is a wire on the other side, so after many days and nights scratching my head I think its to do with the kick down, as cannot see anything else that can control the kick down, going for a test drive tomorrow to see if new o seal has worked, but will take the wire of as well to see if it is kick down, also found a bit of oil running down speedo cable so changed seals there as well, will post tomorrow night to let you know how I got on, but thanks for all the help, dave
