W108 -ATE brake calipers compatibility
Is there a resource that can help identify what the stampings on the calipers mean?
My front left (driver) caliper is stamped with a 19. I have 2 calipers I inherited from the previous owner One stamped 88 and in smaller print 292R The other is stamped 38-94 I don't know if it's compatible, which is front, rear, left or right. Any help is appreciated. Dan |

ATE has a rather good web-site, but they don't break down the casting numbers like you have.
You can contact them and they say they will be eager to help. Check out their web site and just follow the promps for ATE Classic. |

Front and rear should be easy to tell apart because of smaller piston size in the back.
Left and right can be ID'd if you know if the claiper mounts in fornt or behind the disc and by checking which way the bleed screw is up. Csaba |
