after fuel distributor swap, 79 450SEL barely runs
Hi all,
Replaced old frozen cast iron fuel distributor with a light alloy used unit from a donor car. Problem is, can not get it to run with out a screw driver in place. I have tried to adjust the screw between the fuel distributor and plate, but nothing. Video attached. Any help / suggestions is greatly appreciated! 79 450SEL - Running problem - YouTube |

If the distributor needed replacing, probably the WUR and perhaps the pipe between the WUR and the distributor.
Also, there's a an adjustment step for the air plate to perform to get the idle back to spec after the distributor is fiddled with. -CTH |

You could also try richening up the base mixture, 3mm long-arm hex key in the hole in the tower right behind the sensor plate. Push down, turn it right 1/4 turn at a time and see if that helps the starting.
