W116 350SE aux cooling fan?
Since the Austrian car has no aux fan, is there a good retrofit?

Does that mean you have no a/c? If you don't have a fan, then I expect that you will not have the wiring and in which case, I'd get a universal fan with the controller it will automatically kick in.

If it had a/c then there should be an auxiliary fan, no matter how cold the climate was as the aux fan helps maintain system pressure. If you need a replacement. I may have one lying around from a w116 or a w126.
Our Mutual friend may also be able to pull one off his 6.9 parts car.
