Tacho Cable = Easter !
Hi all,
I have a 1967 250SL which is just begging to have a new tacho cable fitted. Have any of the members fitted a cable on an SL of this era. I have biggish hands and there definately does not seem to be much room in the dash and arround> Any helpfull comments would ne very much appreciated as I'd like to do it over Easter. Regards Dan |

I have big hands also but it is possible (not really that hard). The key is to unplug the two electrical plugs and remove the bracket that holds the one from the steering column. Remove the two knurled bolts that hold the tachometer. When the tach is loose, from under the hood, push the tach cable through the firewall a little, this will push the tach out from the dash so that you can un-screw the tack cable and remove the lights.
I hope that this makes sense.
