W115 220 Wiring Diagram

Does anyone know where to find an engine wiring diagram for a W115 220 with an M115 motor?

Getting my 220 put back together and the previous owner did some questionable stuff with starter wiring, and ran it to a button to start the car. I see some damaged wires so I'm hoping instead of repairing melted wires he just took the easy way out.

Also does anyone have any pictures or diagrams for how the ballast resistor and the coil wire up on this car?

Thanks!

The FSM which I have contains two diagrams for the '72 model year; up to May, and from May onward. The difference appears to be in how some connectors are drawn, and in the later version, the inclusion of a time delay switch and the carb idle cutoff valve. What's your production date/version?

The wiring diagrams do not include serial #s, only before and after May 72.
Is there a data plate on a left front door post (either A or B pillar)? The data plate will be stamped with the month and year of production.

Diesel Paul-
I have two books which contain the wiring diagrams, so if you are unable to source them yourself, let me know and I can try to scan the pages and email them to you.

Regarding the coil, one book (Mercedes Benz Tune up maintenance, 1958-1976, Clymer) says the following on a page identifying Connector Function and Color Coding for 4 cylinder cars:
Wiring at Series Resistance for Ignition Coil
Basic Color: Red
Color Coding: Black
From terminal 15 to fuse box, fuse No. 2 terminal 15/54.

I have no idea what any of that means, nor if it is relevant to your question (I am more familiar with the diesel models), but I wanted to share what little info I could find in my old books.

My 1987 300TD wagon was sold and my 2003 W210 E320 wagon was totaled (sheds tear).

OK, the production date is pre-May 72. If you will email me I'll scan a diagram and send it to you. If I try to put it up in a thumbnail, it will not be legible.

Email sent Frank.

Shorts guy, if you get the chance some additional scans would certainly be helpful.

Thanks!

Got it figured out!

The neutral safety switch was dead so they cut all the wiring at the starter and rewired it to a switch that pulled power directly off the battery.

Put a jumper wire in the NSS and hooked the wires back up the starter as per the diagram and she turns over with the key!

People's jank repairs never cease to amaze.
