I have a trailer hitch from a fintail sedan that I've been trying to sell forever. it has brackets and bolts and goes under the gas tank. have pictures if anyone is interested. would cost a fortune to ship. it came from a diesel W110

I would be interested, as I think I could modify it to fit my w108.
A pic would be great. I don't mind paying for shipping as long as you are in the continental US. Could you email me? f124ss AT yahoo DOT com

Thanks,

The W108/W109 uses the same floor and trunk pans as the W110/W111, so it might fit without any modification.

The hard part is finding one that still has the trailer light wiring with the adapters that fit between the taillight wire connector and the taillights.

mine still has the aluminum connector and I cut the wires from the harness, wouldn't be much trouble to splice them to any car. its all there. also I know it fits 108/109/111/110, could really use a bead blasting and repaint, but other then that its fine. should clear the gas tank, ummm W108 v8 cars have larger tanks then the others.

I am going to start looking at the local scrap yards and see what is out there. I would really prefer to have one that I can also slide a hitch bike rack into. Thanks for the help/tips!

Do you have the plug connectors that attach to the taillights?

There is a factory hitch on Craigslist in Rogers, Arkansas. You can see from the photo that it has that big ugly ball on it. That's just the way they did things back in the 70's. A receiver hitch was pretty much unknown outside of hard core camping/truck owner groups.
