1963 W111 220 S Instrument Cluster question
Here's an easy one.
What do the illuminated lights in the picture mean? FWIW, they stay on even if the engine is running fast. And the cluster indicates good oil pressure. On a related note, the battery went dead 2 days ago after being fulling charged. And possibly on a related note, there is a wire not connected to anything as shown in this thread: http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/vintage-mercedes/348112-1963-w111-220-s-mystery-wire-under-hood.html My guesses are that one of the lights is because the E-brake is set and I don't know about the other. Easy question, easier if I had the owner's manual... thanks Scott |

OK, the middle light is the E-brake. Don't know what the red light is on top.

Any chance it's a warning that your generator ain't generatin'? (Or your alternator ain't alternatin'?)

Sure. Is that what that light indicated? Just got the car and it had not been run in at least 7 years and I have no history on it. So is that what the red light is supposed to indicate? Any connection between that and the referenced mystery wire?

yup, GL for Generator. That's why your battery cacked.
Bottom blue light is for high beams. . .
