Engine Oil Weight for a '1969 w115?

So what is the recommended oil weight for my w115?
Over 100,000 miles - does not burn oil.
I live in Arizona.

15W40. I'm told the current gasser oils aren't as good for old engines due to the reduced level of a zinc containing additive called ZDDP. Apparently accelerated camshaft wear can result from using the new oils in old cars. Diesel oils are supposed to be better. I ran Rotella 15W40 in my '71 250. The engine ended up going bad, but not in a way that was related to oil in any way. I also ran 15W40 Rotella in my '86 Lincoln Town Car and '88 Suzuki Samurai with good results.
