1967 230S Fintail Head Job

I've owned our Finnie for over a year now and it is fully sorted and road ready. Just recently, I received all of the service records for the car. In the records it shows multiple valve jobs:

@ 85,000km compression was 155 - 160- 175 - 25-160 - 45

after 1st valve job, The owner checked compression frequently.

@ 92,000kms compression was 150 - 90 - 150 -150 - 150 - 90

another valve job was performed.

@137,000kms compression was 135 - 135 - 145 - 135 - 145 - 135

There are no more compression notes in any of the service records beyond that.

Frankly, I've never checked the compression since I've owned it and we are now at 238,000kms!

With that said, IF I find that I need valve work (it does suffer from modest blow-by) has anyone extracted a little bit more power from their M180 while redoing the head?

I think you are at the limit with what you have now. The head from your engine is used by Unimog guys to boost the power on their stock engines, so this may be an area where you are getting all you can get right now.
