Just acquired a 1973 450SE, but having trouble finding a Chilton's manual. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Send me $3.00

Send me $3.00 for postage and I will send you mine. I now have a factory cd and printed manual and will not be needing that piece of junk anymore.

In other words, you really don't want the chiltons.

The factory publications are easy to get and are a wealth of information. You can't compare a 1/2" thick chiltons to a solid 8" thick stack of factory pubs.

- 116 chassis manual (either the 1 or 2 volume edition)
- 3.5/4.5 engine manual
- 116 Chassis climate control manual
- Electrical troubleshooting 1973-1975 450se
- maintenance manual, model years 1972-1980
- 116 Chassis Owner's manual
- 1973 introduction to service model 450se
- 1973 Technical Data Book

All but the last two are on the CD.

chilton manual

Okay, so two questions:
What's the title of the Chilton's
How much is the factory publication?

CD's sound great, but my computer isn't in the shop where I need to look at the info!

Thanks

Your best bet for the factory pubs is on ebay.
Also, you'll find the chiltons books there too.

Just search for "(mercedes, benz) (service, manual, manuals, book, books)" and you should find lots of things.

As others have said, the Chiltons book is not very good. I still see it occasionally in book stores, but not in auto parts stores.

Chilton's manual

nle,

I don't know about the Chilton's manual for your car but I have both Chilton's and Haynes for my 123 Series of cars and the Chilton's is absolute junk. If the Haynes manual exists for your car get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ben
