w108 Trans Modulator

Does anyone know where I can purchase a transmission modulator for my w108?

Thanks!

I found two places and Pelican was not one of them. Pelican does not like it when you post the names of other places to shop, and I cannot blame them for this, but you are looking for part number 112 270 00 79 and they seem to be running about $40.

A word of caution: I have replaced these on a 115 and a 123 and they need to be adjusted. To me this seems like a bit of an art. You might want to call a few transmission shops that work on German cars and see what they would charge to install this and adjust it out. Installation is simple; adjusting it, for me anyway, is not.

n10:

What engine and trans combination is involved? Year?

250 I-6, 280 I-6, 3.5 V-8, 4.5 V-8?

There are two different series of transmissions possible.

The part # offered by Idle is valid for the earliest transmissions, and is for the diaphragm only. The later transmissions used a modulator with a non-replaceable diaphragm.

Oh sorry
It's a 1969 280s I6. I think it's an m130 engine, not sure on Trans

UPDATE...

So I have a new diaphragm on the way which raises some new questions...

I have read that there is a pressure pin that needs to stay where it is to not alter shifting harshness. (maybe?)

-What does this pin look like?
-Is it easy to move it or screw it up?
-If Im just replacing the diaphragm is it as easy as pulling the old one out and putting the new one in?

-Do I need to drain the ATF first? (I dont think so but you never know)

Thanks!

For some reason I am thinking the entire transmission modulator is a sealed part with no access to just the diaphragm.
Is this correct?
