Alright guys, well here's where I'm at. I called the somewhat local mercedes used parts and service shop who is asking $600 for the set. Not knowing what they look like I figured I can use the original spare as a reference. Here is a picture of my spare that I have in the trunk. In excellent shape. Well I came across a set of four that look identical. Not in the greatest shape but are the cheapest I've found so far ($450 including shipping) Let alone the ONLY set I've found. Are these what I'm looking for? Will they accept the hubcap I'm looking to use?

that seems high, those rims should be plentiful, and yes the hubcaps should fit
did you post in wanted section? Berfinroy is correct, have the seller confirm that they run true ( not bent)

I probably have one laying about if that helps I will look

I thought both prices were high as well especially being some beat up old stock rim. I will go ahead and post in the wanted section. I've been calling around to the scrap yards and having no luck. I'll see what the wanted section can do for me

Okay I've now found a couple sets. One is local and they are asking 260$. The part number does not fully match. The part number that is on my spare is 1084000702. Theirs read 1084001402. Does this matter or will they still fit?

I'm inclined to say yes, although I don't have a history that goes back to 1084000702 and 1402 shows as original to a 116 280S. The important thing is that the size is 6Jx14H2 which should be stamped on the wheel. The bolt pattern is 5 x 112 for all these wheels. The 0702 is an odd part number. I would have expected 0602...

All right! Done deal. Thank you Scott! I'll post some pics when I'm done with this whole swap.
