280SE 4.5 suspension question
Replaced all suspension bushings, springs, shocks, motor and subframe mounts with new stock Mercedes parts via classic center. Car was aligned afterwards. Have driven 200 twisty miles to settle springs and car is listing to starboard (leaning to the right). Anything I could have missed? Car has never been in an accident and is rust free.
Thank you! |

"Still" as in that was the problem before you started? Was the axle checked for twist before the rebuild work was done? What about straightness of the upper & lower control arms.
Have you lifted the nose off the ground, ensured that the two sides of the body are level and then measured the height of things as they hang down? Crude technique, but effective some times, presuming you can ensure the car is level and the surface you're measuring against is too. -CTH |

To adjust the front ride height you will need to measure the difference of the height between the outer and inner pivot points on each of the lower control arms. If there is a difference you will need to increase or decrease the thickness of the rubber on the top of the springs.
The BBB spells out the procedure. You can order the correct spring rubber form Classic Center.
