W111 U-joint replacement info needed....
The car in question is a 1966 250SE and the problem is a bad rear U-joint. At least that is one problem.
While having the drive shaft balanced the guys said I needed a new U-joint but they could not find one. When feeling the joint it feels fine but then I am not capable of putting the horsepower through the U-joint with my hand that the engine can produce so what do I know? In any case this project cannot move forward without a rebuild on the driveshaft. So how hard can it be to find someone in NY, NY to do this? For me pretty tough since I am not having any luck. Anyone know of a shop in the New York City area that can deal with this? |

Thanks! I will give them a call.
I was thinking there might be someplace that rebuilt vintage driveshafts and searched for that. I didn't even think to search for a driveshaft shop. Thanks again. |

I had my driveshaft rebuilt by Driveline Service of Portland. They stock common Mercedes driveshafts(or at least the used to) They sent me a shipping tube to send it to them and I got it back in about a week.
