Yikes, I would think that will be a tough one. You might post a WTB in the Parts For Sale section. A picture of what you're looking for would also help. Welcome aboard to Pelican.

Jan,
Have you considered refinishing your existing piece, or is it beyond salvage? I just restored mine and it looks amazing. Mercedes used high quality wood, I'd be surprised if yours is beyond salvage.

Have you thought about replacing the whole thing with the easier to find (esp in Germany) round switch? That's what I would do if I could not find it.

@Tomguy
if it was easy I would do it, but it isnīt only the switch. You have to fix the wiring and there is a hole in the metal behind the wood for the rectangular switch, and the position of the roung switch is lightly left from this postion, so that you canīt fasten the switch without welding some metal there. And refinishing my wood is not possible because it is polyester paint. The most W108 got a normal paint but mine got the polyester paint, which only can get off by heating it, and thatīs very problematic. Here is a picture of how it looks |

@craftysince86
...if you got a normal paint, you can use a paint remover to get the clear paint of. Here is what I did with the door wood trim. 1. put paint remover on it 2. scratch it of 3. get new wood paint on it 4. paint it with boat paint 5. put it back in the car and feel good @DieselPaul that "wood" be great if you got this part |
