Does anyone know what the cylindrical thing with the wire is that's on the generator? You can see the wire is not connected and I'm thinking it should attach to something? Maybe not.

Is that a condensor?

It's probably what we used to call a choke. It is a filter intended to get the generator whine out of the radio.

Thanks dobrodan. I guess since the radio doesn't work then I shouldn't worry about it. Is it just a ground wire?
I had thought too that it looked like a condenser.
