W114 door check strap

Do the W114's and W123's use the same door check straps? They are called by a myriad of names. The gizmo's which hold the door open.

Is there a difference between the coupes and the sedans?

It's been a long time since I replaced one but I seem to remember they were the same.

Curious because I can't find a parts listing for my 72 250C here at PP but I can find one over at a place whose name I shall not mention for a W123.

Looks Looks W108/109 and W114/W115 are the only ones that are interchangeable according to the EPC. Hope this helps.

Yup, helps a bunch. Thank you.

So, near as I figure, my W114023xxxxxxx's check strap is the same as the 115's, 108's and 109's.

It appears there is no difference between the coupe and sedan models. I hope not because I just ordered a set for a sedan.

Makes me wonder if the ones I remember (sort of) changing were from a sedan W114 and not a W123 as I was thinking.

We'll know soon.

I installed a pair of check straps out of a 114 sedan on our coupe. Still working well 8 years later. The parts were identical.

Replaced one on my '79 W123 with one from the dealer. It broke after two years.
