Becker Mexico TR SW AM/FM
I have the subject radio that was pulled from my fathers euro delivery 190. It is from 1965. complete with the factory manual, service manual, keys(?) delivery card, etc., still in Becker package. What is this radio's value?

A 1965 Mexico TR is a very desirable radio. Also a very odd radio to have in a W110 190, as it is rather top-of-the-line in a rather not top-of-the-line car. Did your father's car also have the neck roll style headrests?
I'm assuming it is the pinstripe small-face radio with the smaller profile (as would fit in a W110 that year). Part of the value is in the condition. If the chrome surround is in good condition that's a big deal. If it works, that matters too. If the search tuning works, that matters. It really depends on condition. It would help a lot if you sent or posted pictures. The value depends on the above, and verification that you have what I think you have. It's a radio for high-end cars, so the owners of those cars tend to have lots of money so it is worth more than maybe it should be. I would say right now you have a pretty big window ranging from about $500 to about $1300. |

Thanks, I'll post pictures of the radio and the booklets. This booklet always had these small keys, so maybe someone can tell me what they were for. So here is a little history on the car, which we do not have any longer: My father purchased it from a Catholic Priest, military, Germany. He purchased in 1966 from priest and my father picked it up at customs in LA. Price was like $1,900. Unfortunately we threw away the euro lights back in the 1970's. It did have headrest. I remember my family putting on over 350,000 miles on that 190. It was an excellent dependable car. Not much for speed.

The little keys are for the antenna. To make it easier to pull it up when it is all the way down.

Pictures. Chrome on the radio is very good. There is a crack in the plastic face plate on left dial. Pictures attached.

Definitely the top of the line for that year. Really nice radio. Should be tested. I would say on ebay you would be looking at $1000ish.
