W115 Oil filter
Hi Guys!
I have just acquired a beautiful US spec 1976 W115 300D. I want to change the engine oil, but want to know what filter to use. Could anybody please give me a non Mercedes Benz filter number? Maybe a GUD part number. Thanks! |

The Mercedes Benz filter number is what would be used to cross over to other equivalent oil filter part numbers. Mercedes Benz does not manufacture oil filters. The MB part number simply means oil filter for a particular engine. I believe that Mann will be the most common maker of MB 300D oil filters.
You may want to do a search in the diesel section of the forum. Surely someone else has asked the same question there.

Not sure if you live near a dealer, but MB branded oil filters are not terribly expensive. According to the Pelican Parts catalog, the oil filter for your car is MB# 0001800209. If you search for that number on line, some websites claim these are the same part:
D02E110M, OF127, OX1D, PF925X, W0133-1638556 Not sure if your car needs it, but my w115 uses a reusable nylon filter on top of the disposable filter. If your car uses that part, make sure you install it correctly or else oil will not be filtered correctly.
