Fire! need injector connectors...
3 or 4 yrs ago, driving down gravel road, thought brake fluid was spraying on windshield, stopped to see what was going on. Soon as hood came up, things went woosh! Started to run away but stayed and kept flames lowered until pressure on hose from pump to fuel rail dropped enough to knock flames away(with my long sleeved winter shirt). Would like to make new harness from computer to injectors but need some connectors that melted. they are two pin plastic/nylon(?). Where to start. Car is ('72) w108 280se 4.5. Rusting, but hate to give up on it....

You can get those two pin connectors here.
You might be interested in thread on BW 107 forum (107 djets use same parts). Harness part starts on second page. 450SL ECU problem? - Mercedes-Benz Forum

Hi Jim,
Welcome to the forum! That is a very common issue with our classic cars. Especially the fuel injected engines with 28 PSI pressure. Anything that can be built can be rebuilt. You can fix it. I had the same model as yours and replaced all of the fuel carrying rubber before something bad happened.
