How Rare Fintail?

Hello guys, i've posted a few questions here and you guys helped me out. Thanks to all that commented. My car is now purrring and running great.
My question is... How rare is my 1963 220sb prefacelift, it is white with a Genuine (original) dark green leather interior with kuhlmeister air and europa radio , armrest too. On the heckflosse website they said something around 15k were made in 1963 if i remember correctly.
I would love to post photos but i dont know how to on my phone. Anyways that was my question thanks alot.

If it's running? Very, very rare.

What's the entire backstory on your ownership and before on the car?

26K 220S's made in '63. Nowadays they are kinda rare because no one cares about sedans but don't confuse that with valuable, yet.

Green interior cars are awesome, would love to see pics. Just email them to your PC, upload from there.

The car is in showroom condition actually. I recently acquired it afer the second owner (old lady) passed away. So i am the 3rd owner, the car was in her possesion since 1974. The reason its in such good condition is it was stored indoors for over 35+ years. Anyways it has 82k original miles and every part is original to the car and basically brand new (even the weatherstripping has no cracks) Interior is all original and in fantastic shape! Extrior paint is perfect no scraches and all the chrome is perfect. A bit too nice if im honest. I really want to daily drive the car , but i am scared to since its in such good condition. I bought the car for 3k. I think i quite possibly made the best deal of the century

That would be the one of the better deals of the century. I don't think of a 63 220S as being particularly rare, but one in that condition is. And a green interior is rare. Unless it's rusty it's a pot of gold in my opinion.

Now please figure out how to post pictures.
And list your location in your profile.

I am looking forward to seeing pictures. The condition you describe is rare as Scooter said. You are the only one who can assign value until you decide to sell it, then it is worth what someone else if willing to pay and you are willing to accept.

The values of vintage cars are rising in General. I have seen two auctions results recently for Fintails that got my attention. One was a Sotheby's auction in Germany where a two-owner mint condition car sold for $31k, the other was a US auction house sale in the North East for $28k that was estimated for $30-35k pre-sale.

What makes your car a smoking hot deal is that you could not spend $3k or $10k on a car that sat outside and get it looking like a garage queen. That is what would make your car rare and valuable as the ones I saw auction results for.

Original leather would be a minor miracle. How do the A/C and radio work?

If you will post the first six digits of the VIN I might be able to tell you how many they made.

That is a rare car. Of the total number of units produced from 1961 to 1965 perhaps 1% look like yours. What is the paint code?

Personally I would not daily drive this car. Depending on some factors you could easily regret it years later. Short fairly frequent trips in decent weather are better than sitting totally idle though. Or sporatic weekend use.

From the picture shown so the car is worth decent dollars already. Daily service will tend to pull it down value wise rapidly.
