52 220 parts on C list, pricing?

I don't get to this side of the store much not having anything older than 97. While doing a nation wide search on Craigslist, I've come across this set of ads all from the same guy and across many areas. Please tell me that these parts are worth 2X what he is selling them for so I can e bay them.

The guy with the Craigslist ad is out of his head. No, don't buy the parts on speculation. More generally, don't buy parts on speculation unless you know the market really well for the parts. Trust me, I've had an ebay business for years and LOTS of parts that I thought were treasures that turned out to be boat anchors.

Hey Scooter,

I need a boat...

I have a million dollars worth of parts at this Craigslist guy's values. There is a guy who was listing a grill for $1,000.00 recently, could be the same guy. He is in Massachusetts and was listing all over the country.

You could buy a complete car with a complete 180 engine for the price of the head advertised. If it was new-old-stock, it might justify that price. That head is worth it weight in pennies at a scrap yard. How many people are checking Craig's list for a 1952 engine head that needs machine shop work?

The 52 220 guy is in Bedford, PA ( where ever that is ) There is no way I'm going to buy something on speculation unless I know all about it so no fear I'm going to corner the market on 52 220 parts.

I've seen other winners like a late 70's SL in sort of driver condition that started out at $ 14,000 and over the span of a year went down to $ 5,600 with no takers. Late in the game the seller said the car was going to go to auction tomorrow where it would bring 8 K + so you better buy it now at $ 5,600. ( It was going to the auction "tomorrow" for about a month )

This isn't limited to MB parts, I've seen an early Ford C4 ( dipstick in the pan, later ones had it in the case ) automatic missing the bell housing in unknown condition that was sitting outside for decades $ 700. . Firm. . .
