Car was running good with the stock system but runs quite a bit stronger with the Pert system....

Interesting that Ignitor II is working well for you. Pertronix info says not to use that model with copper core wires (standard on MB and most Euro cars) and to use Ignitor I instead (1885). I have a spare distributor and would like to do same as you have as a test.

Out of interest, where did you buy your Beru wires? They have not been available from usual sources for some time. Do they have resistors both ends (Total resistance about 6.5kohms?)

Your plug choice diverges from the usual group thinking I too use NGK resistor plugs on my SL with similar engine, but some insist that non resistor plugs work better! (I forget which ones I have, but not NGK 6637 BPR6EIX Iridium Spark Plug)

Bill Hoge of Pertronix took my distributor # and recommended the system to use....The plug wires were on the car when I purchased it about 7 years ago.
They have metal shields at the plugs but I am not aware if they have resistors....NGK rep L. Martin recommended the plugs and gap setting....
At this point I am very pleased with the performance....

If your set up works well for you, that is the main thing!
