Help identifying fuse...71 250?
Anyone know what these two fuse boxes control (see attached).
FYI: I parked car for few weeks, before then car ran great. Now engine won't crank (fully charged battery)...thinking something simple...something electrical. Jub

Try shifting it to neutral and starting it.

If the car starts in neutral you have a bad neutral safety switch.

Checked battery (jumped it and recharged it); tried it in neutral (first thing I tried). Couldn't figure out how to test starter in car (dread having to pull/replace it). I don't think it's ignition key (from what I read these slowly go bad, not all at once).
Replaced: coil, plugs, rotor, rotor cap...ie ignition system stuff....all this months before it stopped running (timing/dwell/carb tuned and synched)...engine purred like a kitten. Then sat for several weeks...figured it was battery...but charged it...nothing, jumped it...nothing, put it in neutral...nothing, jiggled keys...nothing. PO i got from: power windows didn't work (fixed it; electrical), brake lights out (fixed it; electrical); all lights inside don't work (haven't got to this yet); all the fuses were horrible looking (replaced)...leaves in fuse box. Lot of electrical issues so far...and when first got car it used to buzz if seatbelt was undone, now doesn't. The pic I sent of those two fuse boxes, one wire to it was just jammed in and not bolted down, was just curious where it went (for the life of me I can't find my Haynes manual since I moved).

If I recall those are for radio and or AC if it had it. As Mentioned check Nuetral switch and also give the starter a wack with a hammer while trying to start

Are you certain the battery has a good charge? Even though the battery was on a charger does not mean it actually took a charge. If you have another battery that you are certain has a good charge, try it.

Weekends here, guess I'll rule out fuses so...
1. Going to swap batteries (hooked up to charger all day, won't go over 90%) 2. Test neutral safety switch- cool link from down under: OZBENZ - Australian & New Zealand Mercedes-Benz Forums • View topic - Replacing/Repairing Reversing Light/Starter Inhibitor Switch Thanks as always, Jub

It was battery (didn't hold charge).
Swapped out, started right up. Strange how jumping car isn't same as swapping battery totally out (guess jumper cables have some resistance in them, or maybe crapped out battery was drawing in some volts needed for starter?). Not too thrilling, but cars up and running-I'll take it. Jub
