1974 280C spark plug suggestion

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for spark plugs for my 1974 280C. I was reading the manual and it stated the gap is supposed to be set at .028. That seems like a very small gap. Any thoughts would be appreciated. It is a federal model.

I prefer NGK BP6ES. .028-.034 is the recommended gap. The gap is smaller than newer models because this is not a H.E.I. system.

NGK is supurb in quality and for use in our older models .Do note the above advised plug does not have a 'R'' in the number important for correct operation.

Bosch plugs sourced from Germany ,Russia are good ,from India occasionally a dud one after a short run
